Bonapartes Gash Burger

I have eaten the (part of) the most disgusting burger in the World. This is a public service announcement.

Jamie and I were in Bath at a meeting on Monday and Tuesday of this week, on the way back home we had some time to kill at Bristol Temple Meads station, it was lunch time, we were hungry, we didn’t have time to go far, so we entered Bonapartes bar/eating place inside the station.

Yes, I know, train stations are for catching trains not dining out, but what could we do.

I now look back at this decision as mistake number one. Mistake number two was not leaving immediately after we got inside and realised that the place was large and not that clean. Mistake number three was not leaving after realising that the staff were mostly completely put out by us even being there. Mistake number four was ordering a “100% Aberdeen Angus Steak Burger”.

Now I’ve eaten a few burgers in my time, The malt Cross in Nottingham serves delicious home-made style burgers, thick, meaty, super. The Slug and Lettuce serves delicious Angus steak Burgers. Bonapartes serves a sort of meat paste formed into the shape of a burger, fried (for a while at least) covered in weird white, mayonnaise style slime un-melted cheese and grease. Between us we probably ate under one quarter of two burgers, and we were plagued by the greasy face and digestive system it left us with on the two and a half hour journey back.

Bonapartes “Angus” (my arse!) burgers now go down as my all time worst burger ever, if that meat is a) 100% and b) been anywhere near Aberdeen or an ‘Angus’ Cow, I would be very surprised.

Fuck off Bonapartes, you serve shit and your restaurant’s filthy.

On a completely unrelated note you can purchase - and send - an anonymous “turd in a box”: from here - how about that.
